On August 14, 2012, i just came back home for my short holiday, i was very worried about going back because of the new session school fees, i knew my dad was facing series of serious challenges in his financial life, in fact, as the first daughter and at adulthood, he was suggesting i get married so that "my husband" will continue paying my subsequent fees, i was not ready for such commitment so getting married was totally not on my agenda... i have male friends who are doing well with their financial life, the people i thought would support me all wanted something in return, as a very young girl, it was not easy trying to make ends meet. During my first year in the University, i know so many big girls who use the latest phones, wear the latest cloth, fix human hairs (very expensive), only for me to realize that most of them are into prostitution. They engage in sexual activity with someone for payment. I have never thought about practicing such so it became a driving force for making me never to ask anyone for money. It was not easy, i faced so many temptations ( i don't wish to discuss in details or to bore you the reader) but i am so glad i scaled through.
On same day (August 14, 2012), my elder brother Chris told me there is an opportunity to make One Hundred Thousand Naira (502.39 USD). i was very excited and demanded to know the kind of work to do to fetch me such an amount, as a matter of fact, the moment he mentioned 100,000, i had already started calculating how to spend the money.. lol... my 2nd year school fees then was 52,000 so i still have lots of balance left.when i asked chris how i can lay my hands on such amount, the answer he gave me discouraged me a lot. He said i have to play a game with his phone and score high points. Na wa Ooo.. i just did not get what he meant, how can playing games with his phone pay me??... All he did was to share a link to me: NOKIA DANFO RELOADED CONTEST.
When i clicked on the link and read the instructions on how to play the game to win, i decided to give it a shot, it lasted for 5 weeks and every week there are 2 winners, 4 weeks had already gone by and 8 winners declared before my brother told me about it. i thought it was one of these internet scams till i saw one of my Facebook friend also won it. it was the last week and only 2 more winners were needed... i remembered my dad also uses Nokia Asha phone then so i played with 2 phones, i played with my brother's and dad's phone and i became the 1st and 2nd highest scorer for the final week. That was how my brother and i claimed the total prize which was 200,000 NGN and for the first time in my life, i boarded an airplane and visited the big city Lagos.
